Health Care
Travellers must ensure to carry enough cash with them if they are medically not insured while on a visit to the US because only emergency cases are treated without prior payment. The patients can be refused treatment if they can’t furnish evidence of medical insurance or a deposit. If you intend to make a reimbursement claim from your insurance company, make sure that you preserve all the receipts.
Otherwise, the medical facilities in the US are among the best in the world. Stringent control over pharmacies means that many commonly available drugs (OTC) in other countries require prescription in US
If you intend to send your kids to some schools in US, make sure that your child is immunised against Diphtheria, Measles, Poliomyelitis, Rubella, Tetanus, Pertussis, and Mumps.
HIV-positive visitors must apply to their local embassy for a waiver of inadmissibility before entry.
The authorities in the United States of America strongly advise full travel insurance for all travellers to the country.
Travel Advice
From time to time, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK issues Travel Advisories for visits to the United States of America. Accordingly, most visits to the USA are trouble-free but the global threat from international terrorism can never be ruled out. Therefore, the travellers should take adequate precautions while visiting the places of tourists’ interest in USA
The months from June to November are Hurricane months for southern States. So, the travellers are advised to consult the local weather office before planning their visit to these parts of the USA.
The US Department of Homeland Security has lowered its terror alert status to ‘Orange’, i.e., high, for all flights to the country. Stringent security checks at the airports and public buildings are common.
Car and street crimes are high in some cities in the US. At the time of publishing, this information is correct. However, the travel advice is periodically and rapidly updated. Therefore, all the visitors are advised to contact at the following addresses for the latest travel advice:
