Many Britons have more confidence when buying property in America than they do in some areas of Europe, an industry expert has claimed.
Annette Reeve, director at Mayfair International Realty, suggested that many investors feel more comfortable with purchases across the Atlantic, particularly in Miami.
She said this has proved to be one of the top destinations for property investors in the UK because of the large number of flights to the city.
"People do like the States because it is governed and they probably think: 'I want to buy abroad, I can get there in nine hours'," Ms Reeve commented.
She added that the government in the US is starting to implement a number of schemes to provide a boost for the property market in the country.
The recent collapse of the housing sector could also encourage British buyers who might feel that prices could not get any lower in the US.
Property investment magazine Jet-to-Let recently revealed that so far this year, the US has attracted more interest from property abroad buyers that any other nation except for France and Cyprus.
