The Northern Territory's Litchfield National Park has been voted Australia's best-kept tourist secret, reports Northern Territory News...
Situated 100 km southwest of Darwin, the park ranked first in Australian Traveller magazine’s recent poll: “100 Great Things To Do In Australia You've Never Heard Of”. Litchfield, which was referred to as "Kakadu's little brother" in the magazine, beat more than 800 tourism attractions nation wide.
Wilderness Adventures tour coordinator Lyndall McSween said: “Visitors love Litchfield because it’s easily reached from Darwin. It gives a rugged view of the Top End with the escarpment rocks and big waterfalls. Visitors to Litchfield are never disappointed."
Litchfield attracts more than 220,000 visitors annually. The Northern Territory had 11 destinations in the list, including the Cutta Cutta Caves, voted No. 38.
