Buyers looking for a solid property investment in a country with potential for growth and a warm climate may wish to consider Australia.
According to the Sunday Times, values have dropped overall by 0.8 per cent in the second quarter of 2008.
Annually, growth has declined to nine per cent, down from 13.8 per cent during the first quarter of the year.
This led industry expert Nick Ridgewell to comment: "We believe that Australia is beginning to look good value and expect to invest within six months or so."
According to Homesoverseas.com, a sustained interest in Australia among expats is driving the property market in the country.
The online portal stated that there is a strong desire to move to Australia due to its low interest rates and the measures the government is taking to offset the effects of the credit crunch.
Jennifer Nielsen of Loan Market Group reported that there has been a steady number of enquiries into mortgages in Australia.
