expats praise decision to buy property in australia

Two British expats have commended their decision to buy property in Australia and live there full-time.
Peter Sheppard, a carpenter from Wiltshire, was having difficulty finding work in the UK two years, while demand for the skills he possessed was very strong overseas.
He and his wife therefore opted to relocate to Australia, where they are able to enjoy both financial and lifestyle benefits.
Speaking to the Times, Ms Sheppard commented: "We walk down the beach some mornings and have to pinch ourselves to remind us that we really do live here."
She added that the couple enjoy living in close proximity to the beach, particularly as their children can enjoy lots of outdoor activities.
This could help to account for the recent findings from the Office for National Statistics, which highlighted the country as one of the most popular locations among British expats.
