Owners of property in Belize could be benefit from the growth of eco-tourism in the last five years, it has been claimed.
According to Kerry Sanders, an NBC News correspondent, the Central American nation is in many ways "still untouched", which has great growth potential for its tourism industry.
Among the activities holidaymakers can do in Belize are snorkelling, scuba-diving, tubing on rivers through caves and zip-lining through the jungle.
The lush jungles are increasing open to tourists looking to make a connection with nature and enjoy being close to abundant wildlife.
Overseas property investors who are want a buy-to-let acquisition may find that Belize offers lucrative opportunities.
Revenues provided by coral reefs and mangroves in Belize are worth between $395 million and $559 million each year, according to Mongobay.com.
This accounts for between 30 and 45 per cent of the gross national product of the country.
