belize property market to benefit from economic vibrancy

Belize is to avoid recession this year, and thus escape the effects of the international downturn altogether according to the International Monetary Fund, which predicts a 1% real GDP growth for Belize this year, and 2% next year.
This is great news for the Belize property market, and the thousands of foreigners who have invested in it over the past couple of years, according to overseas property portal Property Abroad.com.
"In the last 12 months we have seen the popularity of Belize property remain constant with overseas investors. Our research department predicted a strong future for Belize property, and have been recommending it as an investment even when other destinations faltered," said Les Calvert, director of the portal.
Property Abroad.com is currently advertising dozens of properties for sale in Belize, from land plots in the Maya District for £34k and 2 bedroom apartments in Placencia for £195k to a 1 bedroom house in Guatemala for £510k.
"Property in Belize isn't the lowest priced in the world, but still cheap by international standards on a like-for-like basis, and this is only because of massive growth in the past few years. When you look at the potential growth in the economy and tourism in the next 5 - 10 years it is one of the best overseas property investment opportunities there is," Les concluded.
