Belize property could see a new wave of popularity with American and global holiday home buyers, because of the increased value for money presented by the massively reduced prices in the country, experts have stated.
According to agents on the ground in Belize, property prices in the popular areas have fallen by as much as 40%. Because of this, according to Les Calvert, director of Property Abroad.com, Belize property is offering fantastic value for money, and, if noticed could cause a wave of popularity with the growing numbers of foreign holiday home buyers.
"Belize is a fantastic place for a holiday, and arguably even better to have a holiday home," he said, adding:
"Think tropical rainforests and tropical beaches, think Mayan ruins and getting back to nature, and whilst thinking about all that prepare to be surprised by the fact that English is the first language and the health service is world class."
Les explained that Belize's unique characteristics are those left over from British colonial rule: the first language of Belize is English, meaning foreigners can buy there without a language barrier.
Belize is also relatively under-developed compared to some countries, and it is not uncommon the be able to buy a property in Belize that is in the depths of a tropical rainforest nature-reserve, yet just 20 minutes from towns and cities.
"As yet the reports of 40% price reductions have not really taken hold, but if they do it is hard to see anything but a spike in interest for Belize property," Calvert concluded.
