A Country Guide to Brazil

Climate

The interiors of Brazil are generally hot, dry, and arid, while the tropical rainforests of Amazon forests are usually hot. The coastal region of the country is no different, as it is mostly hot and sticky throughout the year. The southern part of the country could get cold as do the mountainous region during winters. January to April is the rainy season in North Brazil, while rain lashes Northeast of the country during April to July, and tourist locations of Rio and Sao Paulo witness rains during November to March.

Required Clothing

Visitors are advised to wear lightweight natural fabrics to enjoy Brazilian weather, with waterproofs during the rainy season. During June-July, when mild winters prevail in South Brazil, warm clothing is advisable. The Amazon climate is best enjoyed with specialised clothing. Europeans, in particular, are advised to wear sunglasses during the day, as the sunlight could be extremely bright throughout the country.
