Londrina is the 2nd city in the state of Parana and was founded by the English, hence the name. It is very clean and easy to get around. Flights to Londrina from Sao Paulo take 45-60 minutes. Sao Paulo is a 5-hour drive.
Parana is one of Brazil's wealthiest and therefore most developed states. With a population of 10m, mainly of European descent, Parana has much better infrastructure / security than the rest of the country. It has a subtropical climate with temperatures rarely falling below 20, but not frequently exceeding 36 either.
