buy property in brazil to capitalise on tourism drive
News Posted On: 14 May 2009
Those buying property in Brazil could be in line to benefit from a greater influx of leisure travellers to the country after the ministry of tourism (Embratur) launched its Brazil Now campaign.
New promotions from airlines and tour operators will be highlighted by the scheme.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage more visitors to the nation and persuade tourists that "the best time to visit Brazil is now".
Jeanine Pires, Embratur president, commented: "In accordance with Embratur's research, foreign tourists will continue travelling during the economic recession, but will try to spend less."
This could be welcome news for those with property in Brazil because there may be a greater demand for rental homes among budget travellers visiting the South American nation.
Ms Pires added that the body wanted to take the chance to bring in as many tourists to the country as possible.
The Fifa World Cup 2014 will take place in Brazil, which could see the country enjoy a further boost to its profile among leisure travellers across the world.
