Britons are showing increasing interest in buying real estate in Brazil, recent figures have revealed. According to data on search enquiries for online portal Homes Overseas, Brazil is the tenth most popular destination for UK buyers.
The south American country moved up five places in the rankings compared with previous month, taking it into the top ten. Homes Overseas commented: "In spite of the global economic downturn, Brits' appetite for property overseas remains firm, based on enquiries for properties to buy."
As well as European favourites, such as Portugal and Italy, Britons also showed increasing levels of interest in real estate in Thailand last month.
This comes after the Brazilian tourism ministry released figures which indicated that revenue in the sector grew 20 per cent in the first two months of the year.
With a solid vacation trade, the country could offer good opportunities for property buyers who want to rent out their foreign real estate.
