bulgaria property coming back into favour with british buyers

Bulgaria is becoming more popular with British buyers, according to the first quarter results revealed by major UK portal Property Abroad.com.
Bulgaria grew into one of the most popular destinations during 2006 and stayed in the top group for 2007, but its popularity began to wean when over-supply became a problem in the popular areas.
Now its popularity is growing again, from 9th most popular in the first quarter of last year to 8th most popular in the 1st quarter of this year.
"Not a major jump by any stretch of the imagination, but for us, immersed in the industry, watching and reading the negative press about Bulgaria and seeing thousands of British buyers rushing to sell-up, this is quite a pleasant surprise for us," said Les Calvert, Property Abroad director.
"The rise can be attributed to Bulgaria's economic performance: Bulgaria is now one of only four EU member states forecast to avoid recession this year, and forecast to do so in the most impressive way; strong growth with a firm handle on the budget deficit. That and the low-prices of course." emerging markets analyst Julie Liddle chimed in.
Property Abroad is currently advertising hundreds of properties for sale in Bulgaria, resale and off plan, with both available from under £10,000. The portal is also advertising properties for rent in Bulgaria.
