Those buying property in Cape Verde might benefit from improvements to the sector after Portugal's prime minister Jose Socrates confirmed that his country will be investing more money into the African nation.
While visiting the archipelago, the leader of the Iberian nation said he wanted to build on the already strong relations between the countries.
Overseas property investors might be encouraged to acquire a home in Cape Verde after learning that some of the money will be spent on improving the real estate sector.
Mr Socrates claimed there was already a good level of "maturity" between the nations, which would provide a solid base to build on.
"It is for this that I am in Cape Verde with an important delegation of ministers and secretaries of state," Mr Socrates commented, according to the Pan-African News Agency.
The African Development Bank recently announced that $287 million (£203 million) in funding would be given to Cape Verde to help it build its infrastructure.
