Plans to build a new Disneyland-style resort in Cyprus are likely to attract new people to the property market in the island nation, it has been suggested.
According to Paul Collins of BuyAssociation.co.uk, the scheme could see fresh life injected into the Mediterranean country's property sector.
Mr Collins noted that more people are opting to acquire a property abroad for lifestyle reasons rather than investment purposes.
For this reason, he said the Disneyland-style park and 14 new golf courses being developed in Cyprus could benefit the nation's property market.
"There certainly seems to be a bit of movement towards the leisure side of things in Cyprus. Not only will it attract new people to the property market, it will attract more tourists as well," Mr Collins commented.
While Cyprus offers a wealth of lifestyle attractions, there are still opportunities for investors looking to rent out homes to visitors from the UK.
According to the Cyprus Tourist Organisation's latest figures, around 1.3 million British leisure travellers visit the island each year.
