The Dominican Republic offers the best value for money and investment potential in Caribbean property, says overseas property portal Property Abroad. According to Julie Liddle, who researches emerging markets for the firm, properties offering 100% finance and guaranteed rental yields are among the best opportunities, especially apartment-hotel style products. She said:
"Since the government's efforts to improve the global -perception of the Dominican Republic, and get rid of elements un-conducive to tourism growth paid dividends, the Dominican Republic has seen rapidly rising visitor numbers. Tourism has continued of late while property price growth has slowed meaning rental yields have generally increased, and there is an abundance of excellent buy-to-let investment opportunities in the country.
"There is also the availability of 100% mortgages and substantial guaranteed rental yields of up to 10%."
