dominican republics property market is one to watch
News Posted On: 05 January 2009
The property sector in the Dominican Republic has been identified as one of the markets that could enjoy significant growth over the next 12 months.
According to Raise the Roof, the property blog of the International Herald Tribune, the Caribbean nation is likely to attract investors from around the world during 2009.
The online portal claims that the country is in a period of growth and is one of the established Caribbean islands.
"International money continues to flow from both the U.S. and Europe," the website stated.
Its popularity is in spite of a global downturn in property markets elsewhere in the world.
Other nations identified as "markets to watch" this year were the Brazil, Panama, and Croatia.
Last month, JetBlue Airlines announced that it would be operating daily non-stop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
The new flights to the country could be good news for prospective investors looking to rent out homes to holidaymakers staying in the island nation.
