List of Egyptian Tourist Attractions
Egypt is associated in most people’s minds with pharaohs and pyramids, and it’s true: there are some great, well-preserved archaeological finds in Egypt. The Great Pyramid, or Khufu’s Pyramid, on the Giza Plateau, is still a major tourist draw, and retains its fascination for the thousands who come to see it. It shares its setting with two slightly smaller pyramids, the Khafre and Menkaure pyramids.
Along with the other pyramids along the Valley of the Kings, Egypt is happy to attract the tourist with its Nile cruises, its historic temples and monuments and its remnants of the reign of Cleopatra.
However fascinating the ancient Nile kingdom may be, there’s more to Egypt than pyramids, though.
Families can explore Egypt’s wildernesses together through guided safaris into the desert, where they can see the oasis and the beautiful rolling dunes. Theme parks like the Crazy Water aqua park, or the Dream Park, are a modern fun experience for the family. Meanwhile, the Pharaonic Village offers to take you back in time to the days of Ramses and Tutankhamun.
Egypt also has exclusive Red Sea Riviera resorts where you can sunbathe, and Nile cruises where you can relax on the cool deck of your ship as it travels down the river. There are spas and pristine white beaches, and the stunning coastal cliffs of the white Med. And there’s genuine Egyptian culture mixed in; you can smoke a hookah in a teashop or try a riverside Beduin dining experience. Egypt may be the home of the ancients, but there’s always something new to do there.
