Travel Advice

From time to time, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK issues Travel Advisories for visits to Egypt. Accordingly, most visits to Egypt are trouble-free but the global threat from international terrorism can never be ruled out. In fact, the terror threat in Egypt is high. Therefore, the travellers should take adequate precautions while visiting the places of tourists’ interest in Egypt.

Sinai Peninsula has witnessed three separate bomb attacks in the recent years targeting both locals and tourists.

Domestic developments in the country could lead to public unrest and demonstrations, which could turn violent. Travellers are advised to avoid getting caught in such protests and demonstrations.

Egypt has also been a victim of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), which has also caused human fatalities. Thus, live animal markets, poultries, and other places where contact with animals is inevitable should be avoided.

Though crime levels in Egypt are low, still the visitors are advised to exercise due caution in safeguarding their belongings.

Being a predominantly Muslim country, women travellers are especially advised to dress conservatively.

Travellers are also advised to carry some identity proof at all times.

At the time of publishing, this information is correct. However, the travel advice is periodically and rapidly updated. Therefore, all the visitors are advised to contact at the following addresses for the latest travel advice:
