Those considering buying property in France are likely to welcome recent claims that investor confidence in the country is starting to return.
According to Nick Leach, head of business development in the UK and Ireland for Pierre & Vacances, there has been an increase in supply and demand for French leaseback properties.
He said that this is in part attributable to the growing confidence in the country's property sector, which has helped to "re-boost" the market ahead of other countries.
"Other advantages for foreign investors buying French leaseback properties are the VAT rebate and guaranteed rental income which is currently around four per cent net of all charges and running costs with P&V," Mr Leach added.
France was recently praised by Barack Obama, who expressed his love for the south of the country and wine from Provence.
He added that Paris was also one of his favourite destinations and that France is among the "most important [nations] in the world".
