People thinking of buying property abroad with a view to relocating to a foreign country might wish to consider purchasing a home in Germany, a recent survey suggests.
According to an independent study conducted by HSBC International, the European country is one of the most welcoming destinations for foreigners in the world.
Expatriates who moved to Germany reported that the locals were both welcoming and accommodating.
A total of 92 per cent said they had made friends with German nationals resident in the country.
It was also the nation in which the most expatriates managed to learn the local language, with about three-quarters picking up German while they were there.
For those who need top class facilities in their chosen destination, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt might be great choices in Germany.
They both featured in the top ten cities in the world in terms of infrastructure in Mercer's Quality of Living survey 2009.
