german property market has investment potential

Overseas property investors might be able to make a profit by purchasing housing in Germany, it has been claimed.
Recent Eurostat figures revealed that Germany has received the most tourists each year throughout the last decade.
According to Write About Property, this means that prospective property buyers could find that housing in the European country proves to be a lucrative investment.
It suggested that the huge popularity of the country means there could be a lot of money to be made for buyers who acquire holiday homes in Germany.
The online portal suggested that renting to tourists could be more profitable because the government's rent restrictions are not applicable to holiday properties.
"It may be worthwhile buying an untenanted German property and marketing it for holiday rentals, not covered by the government restrictions. This would allow a mid-high rental yield while capital gains are awaited," it claimed.
This comes after Nick Barnes of Knight Frank said that Germany's property market has held up well in the global economic downturn.
