Investors may wish to consider acquiring a buy-to-let home in Germany as the market in the European country is "particularly good", it has been claimed.
According to Buy Association, German cities offer great opportunities for buyers who want to rent out their property.
Paul Collins, editor at the online portal, noted that in some cases it is possible to purchase a home that has tenants in it already.
He said: "The market in the cities is particularly good; particularly if you are looking to buy-to-let because there is a very high proportion of people who rent in Germany as opposed to buy domestically."
Mr Collins identified new-build homes outside of the major metropolitan areas as places where buyers can get good value for their investments.
The Investment Property Database found that Germany's all-property total return stood at 4.5 per cent in 2007, up from 1.3 per cent the year before.
Capital growth also increased, up to -0.2 per cent compared with -3.1 per cent 12 months earlier.
