germany is one of the best countries to raise children
News Posted On: 10 December 2008
Germany is one of the top three countries in which to raise children, research has suggested.
An HSBC Expat Experience survey, which polled UK expats across the world found that Britons who relocated to Germany felt it was a good environment for their family.
Only France and Spain scored more highly than Germany, which ranked higher than popular destinations such as Canada, the US, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
Germany was found to be one considered one of the cheapest nations in which to bring up a child, scoring the same as France and higher than India.
Children raised in the European country generally learned to speak two or more languages and a large proportion of expats believe their children will want to stay in the European nation once they have grown up.
This could encourage overseas property buyers from the UK to purchase a home in Germany and expatriate to take advantage of the high quality of life.
Those who wish to rent out a second home in Germany could find a strong market for their holiday homes among leisure travellers from the UK, according to Grahame McKenzie of Travel Mole.
He said the economic downturn might encourage Britons to holiday in mainland Europe rather than venturing further afield.
