Overseas property investors looking to snap up a property in Germany could make significant long-term returns, an expert has claimed.John Howell, a senior partner with the International Law Partnership LLP, told the Press and Journal that the economic downturn had brought uncertainty to many property markets around the world.However, he suggested that the offer of reduced-price stock in timeless destinations could be good news for investors.Mr Howell highlighted property in Berlin as a worthwhile investment, even though the country is currently feeling the full effects of the recession.He pointed out that this had resulted in a downturn in prices, allowing investors to purchase homes at cheaper prices.This could pay dividends in the long term, as Mr Howell claimed that Berlin will become "one of the great investment destinations" within the next five to ten years.Mr Howell's comments come after consultancy firm VEF suggested that there is also "a window of opportunity" in the French property market at present, with homes available at "incredibly low" prices.Overseas Property - serving the overseas property market since 1992
