Information on Airports in Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, and its sole international airport is Gibraltar International Airport, located in the north of the country near its border with Spain.
The airport, located on Winston Churchill Avenue, off Devil’s Tower Road, offers flights to the UK and worldwide destinations and private flights to over 1, 000 airports; Gibraltar’s airport sees a higher number of private flights than most. There are several shops in the airport, including perfumes and cosmetics shops, a branch of Tommy Hilfiger and two duty free outlets, as well as an opportunity to purchase accessories for the flight. There are ATMs throughout the airport and a Bureau de Change is available. Well-maintained facilities exist for disabled passengers.
There is a restaurant, the 36 degrees North Restaurant and Bar, located in the terminal after security, and the Victoria Lounge sells drinks and snacks next to Arrivals. Additionally, there is a tourist help desk, a chemist’s shop and a newsagents/tobacconist as well as baby and parent facilities.
Car hire is available at the airport and there is also a bus connection and a taxi rank, but uniquely for an international airport Gibraltar International is just 500 metres from the centre of the city it serves so walking is perfectly feasible.
