greek property boosted by holiday appeal

The popularity of Greece with tourists from the UK means that it is also an attractive destination for lifestyle buyers from Britain, an expert has claimed.
According to Frank Crowley, director of overseas property firm Azure Overseas, Britons are more likely to acquire second homes or relocate in countries where they have enjoyed holidays.
He said that while Australia and New Zealand are popular destinations for travelling, UK residents are more likely to want a home in a European country.
Mr Crowley noted that Greece was recently voted the second most popular destination in the Telegraph Travel awards and said this was a good sign for the country's real estate sector.
"Greece's continued popularity with Britons as a holiday destination is É very good news for the property market," he said.
In an attempt to maintain its popularity, Greece's tourism officials recently announced that advertising spend would be increased by 50 per cent and tax cuts would be introduced for companies in the sector, reports Balkan Travellers.
