movie prompts people to buy property in greece

Mamma Mia, the hit movie which features songs from Swedish band Abba, has been credited with fuelling interest in buying property in Greece.
PropertyIndex.com revealed that in recent months, it has seen a 120 per cent increase in the number of enquiries relating to Greek real estate.
The firm said this is because many of the attractions of the Greek islands in particular are prominently portrayed in Mamma Mia, which was said to have "captivated" British buyers.
"Greece offers a fantastic climate with mild winters and 3,000 hours of sunshine," noted Lee Bramzell, chief executive of the firm.
He added that the country also has affordable property values, low living costs and a healthy rental market, which could make it suitable for buy-to-let investors.
Meanwhile, Piers Williams of Aylseford has also recommended Greece as a destination for overseas property buyers.
He told the Independent that the country is a "beautiful" location with offers relatively low house prices, and a much better pace of life.
