The bargains in Jamaica property are quite unbelievable at the moment. I'm talking three and four bedroom villas near the beach for less than £200k -- it's like the world gone mad or something.
Jamaica is one of the most popular of all Caribbean holiday hotspots, which some people are still avoiding because of its high crime rates.
However, the crime rates are something that we should be taking advantage of to bag some of these unbelievable bargains.
There is crime everywhere. Jamaica is known for its violent crime, most of which is gang-related, and most of it is aimed at fellow gang members. Therefore, common sense is all that is needed to avoid falling victim to such crimes.
In terms of other crimes; the kind of crimes holidaymakers are the most frequent target of; theft and street robbery, people are at no more risk in Jamaica than they are in most US cities.
Caribbean property is currently being offered on a no-frills basis as developers remove non-essential luxuries like spas and moorings in order that they can sell the same properties at lower prices. This has brought about rapidly increasing transactions involving foreigners since April.
The new phenomenon, coupled with the low prices of Jamaica property anyway, is why the island is currently offering such incredible bargains, and why it is my pick of the month.
