malaysia property to recover this year
News Posted On: 27 May 2010
Experts are predicting a better performance in the Malaysian property market this year because the economic recovery has solidified.
The World Bank has already confirmed that Malaysia suffered only a short recession, which started at the end of 2008, and ended with the beginnings of a rebound in the second quarter of 2009. This economic recovery will undoubtedly boost the local housing market.
The economic recovery in wider Asia will also likely be good for the Malaysian property market. Malaysia has always been a favourite with tourists from around Asia, and as such has seen tourism revenues dominated by regional tourism. This obviously took a hit as Asia was struck by the international downturn, but the Asian recovery will bring a resurgence in this -- especially considering the political strife in Thailand.
A resurgence in regional tourism to Malaysia, will make Malaysian property once again an attractive bet to overseas property investors. Regional tourism is the investors best friend because it gives them the opportunity for high yield holiday lets, and sometimes even longer term holiday lets.
Medical tourism is also a massive growth sector in Malaysian tourism with people travelling from the region's poorer countries to enjoy Malaysia's world-class medical facilities or from the west to get a better deal on cosmetic treatments.
There is the potential for specialise medical tourism property investments to be very lucrative in the coming years. Picture holiday resorts with the focus on relaxation; a spa but where you go for surgery rather than pampering.
