A new budget airline service could make buying property in Malaysia easier.
Air Asia X is now offering flights between London Stansted and Kuala Lumpur five times a week.
Prospective holiday home buyers or investors could find it cheaper to visit their properties as fares start from £149 one-way.
John Scott, director of south-east Asian property specialist Asset Property Brokers, described the country's real estate market as robust and said the low-cost flights would help improve the tourism sector.
"This is good news for those thinking about investing in property or seeking a property in Malaysia," he added.
Mr Scott asserted that occupancy rates would go up and that accommodation for tourists would be in strong demand.
Malaysia was recently identified as a good location for professionals looking to escape the recession in their home country.
According to the Times, the nation couples beautiful beaches with "silicon valley outposts", which could make it a favourite destination for prospective expats.
