Retirees who wish to live in an affordable and desirable location overseas could find Malaysia an ideal place to go.
According to Shelter Offshore, the Asian country offers a number of attractions to expats in their post-working life.
For example, it was said to have a number of financial perks, such as tax breaks aimed specifically at foreign retirees.
Shelter Offshore described these as "incentive programmes" which allow people to enjoy tax-free living and affordable housing.
"If you're of retirement age and cheap for you is all about paying as little tax as is legally possible, then look at Malaysia," the website commented.
Shelter Offshore added that expats in the country can also enjoy "sophisticated" surroundings and a high standard of living.
Meanwhile, a study by the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation has rated Malaysia as the 58th freest economy in the world.
