Information on Airports in Montenegro
Podgorica Airport is sometimes referred to as Golubovci Airport because of its close proximity to the town of Golubovci, which is about a mile away. Officially the airport is named for the much larger city of Podgorica, whose city centre is about seven miles away. The drive from the city centre to the airport usually takes less than 15 minutes. Located near the coast of Montenegro, the airport is relatively newly built, dating mostly from the 1960s and with a large-scale improvement from 2006 when a new terminal building was built to handle increased passenger flow. The airport is served by bus routes from the city centre and taxis are also available. Additionally, several car rental agencies operate out of Podgorica Airport.
Tivat Airport is situated just 2.5 miles from the centre of Tivat. The buildings date from the 1970s and there are 12 check-in desks. The airport is reached by the E65 road out of Tivat and is served by several local bus routes as well as by taxis. There are also several car rental companies operating out of the terminal. There is a bank, several shops and a duty free outlet at the airport as well as places to eat and a tourist agency.
