eu accession could boost montenegros property values

Now could be a good time to purchase a property in Montenegro as the nation aims to accede to the European Union (EU) during or before 2009.
Montenegrin prime minister Milo Djukanovic told a press conference in Sarajevo that he is in talks with France to apply for a candidate status.
Mr Djukanovic said EU status would reflect the improved social, political and economic stability seen in the country since 2006.
Liam Bailey, chief market analyst for Property Abroad, said: "One of the biggest strengths put forward when I was recommending Montenegro as an investment destination in 2007, was its path toward recent accession into the EU."
He noted that property values in Bulgaria rose by up to 30 per cent after the country's accession to the EU.
Overseas property investors might be able to get substantial returns if they can acquire a home in Montenegro before it gets EU membership status.
Montenegro recently received a great deal of media attention after it featured in Daniel Craig's first James Bond film, Casino Royale.
