Health Care
The main cities of Morocco offer good medical facilities, including emergency pharmacies (even in Town Hall). The treatment at Government hospitals is free or charged exceptionally for emergency treatment.
The authorities in Morocco strongly advise full travel insurance for all travellers to the country.
Travel Advice
From time to time, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK issues Travel Advisories for visits to Morocco. Accordingly, most visits to Morocco are trouble-free but the global threat from international terrorism can never be ruled out. In fact, the terror threat in Morocco is high. Therefore, the travellers should take adequate precautions while visiting the places of tourists’ interest in Morocco, especially after the recent twin suicide bombings in Casablanca.
Road safety leaves much to be desired in Morocco. The main road from Agadir to Marrakech via Imi’n Tanoute and Chichaoua is particularly accident-prone.
The travellers to Western Sahara should be cautious as it is a disputed territory, and often, violence breaks out after Friday prayers. This region also has several unexploded mines.
Large public gatherings, protests, and demonstrations should be avoided, as they can easily turn violent
If traversing through remote areas, always stick to the main roads.
Independent overland travellers should be pre-informed about the legality of their visit, as travel is generally restricted to organized groups.
