Morocco is set to become an increasingly popular destination for those looking to purchase a second home by 2010, if predictions by the Moroccan government are to be believed...
The government hopes that the Vision 2010 plan will take away the country's dependence on France to supply tourists to the area and shift the focus onto travellers from Western Europe, reports the Daily Reckoning.
It states that the country offers a great deal of attractions for families and has a good history packed with culture and charm.
Moreover, it is in a good location meaning easy access for those who wish to make a property investment in the area.
A growing number of Western airlines are also flying to the area, lowering the cost of travel to the area for passengers from the UK. Easy Jet recently began an itinerary of flights from Gatwick in London to Marrakech.
Visitor numbers to Morocco are already on the increase and in 2006 were 9% ahead of those in 2005.
Another advantage for investors is that real estate can be purchased at around on third of the price of like-for-like properties in other hotspots.
Morocco has a subtropical climate, where temperatures often exceed 38 degrees Centigrade in the summer.
