Morocco is becoming an easier location for holidaymakers and their families to visit, an expert has claimed.
According to Jane Folliot, a specialist in Morocco and commercial director at Orion Trek Voyages, people are feeling more confident about taking children to the north-African nation.
She said that it is a particularly attractive destination for those looking to escape the "drudgery" of UK winters and the "in your face" Christmas period.
Ms Folliot said: "Morocco has developed a lot in terms of facilities. At Christmas it's a very popular destination - it's short haul from the UK and it's exotic."
This may be welcome news for property buyers looking for an investment opportunity as there is heightened demand for rental accommodation in the country.
Morocco's Tourism Ministry announced that there was a 13 per cent increase in tourist arrivals year-on-year during the first 11 months of 2007.
A total of 6.72 million visitors came to the country in this period, with France proving the most important source market.
