Experts in the Panama property market have highlighted the investment opportunity that lies in repossessed properties in the country.
In the 2-3 years of the international financial crisis there has been very little talk of repossessed properties in Panama, very little talk of Panama property at all.
For the former, this is because it is practically impossible for foreigners to benefit from investment in repossessed opportunities in Panama, due to difficulties in their obtaining a mortgage and in navigating a quagmire of legal issues. However, according to local experts interviewed by stockmarketsreview.com, the opportunity for foreigners lies in investing in a Panamanian company that then invests in the repossessed properties. According to the report, these can be found online.
There is another problem though: since the financial crisis left scores of people thousands and/or millions of pounds, dollars or euros out of pocket, the overseas property buyer of today is far more cautious than e/she was in 2006. For the most part, these buyers are unable to benefit from repossessed deals, because by the time they have done their research the property is sold. Equally, for people to start researching the companies involved, most of the properties would be sold.
None the less, for the bold the opportunity is there to pick up some good deals. Those who bought into this at the start of the crisis have since sold for 30% profits. For the less bold there are some off plan properties that are available at much lower prices than we would have seen in 2007.
