poland construction to grow fastest in europe in coming decade
News Posted On: 16 November 2009
A new report by Global Construction Perspectives and Oxford Economics has highlighted massive growth in Poland's construction sector in the next decade.
The report concludes that emerging markets will overtake established one completely, in terms of growth in construction over the next decade, with China overtaking the US as the largest market by 2018. The testament to Poland comes from the fact that the report says it will be the only European country in the top 10 fastest growing tourism markets in 2020.
The fastest growing are to be China, Nigeria, Vietnam and Turkey. This is a massive feather in Poland's cap. The report is based on masses and masses of research into population growth, long term GDP estimates and public sector budgets.
Adrian Cooper of leading business forecasters Oxford Economics said:
"All of the data points to both short and long term growth in emerging markets. We predict that in just ten years time construction in these markets will more than double in size, growing by an estimated 110% and representing 17.2% of GDP in 2020."
The infrastructure construction sector is to grow by 128% in emerging markets over the next decade. This compared to a growth of just 18% in infrastructure construction in established markets.
Established markets are currently very much the focus of property investors, both private and institutional, but this reports shows where the smart money really is for property investment in the coming decade.
