The farm is located in the Alentejo — one of the most ecologically protected regions of Portugal and the most promising one for the tourists who are in search of peace and quietness, fresh air, and warm people. The Alentejo Area is in fact (together with the Azores Islands) the most pure and environmentally preserved region of Portugal. It's the country zone, with hunting and the wildest areas and its only 1h.30m away from Lisbon and about 40 minutes from Spain, served by an excellent super highway system. In the Alentejo, you will find the finest, honest and pure minded people. You can find castles, Palaeolithic "antas" and old Roman bridges. You can also visit old villages and the city of Évora that is a world heritage area and a protected city by UNESCO. The Algarve is loosing the interest of foreign investment, since prices have risen to unaffordable levels. There is a developing process going on in the Alentejo now. There are more than ten new approved projects of 18 hole golf courses within a radius of about 50km of our farm (two of them within a 10 minute ride). The Alqueva Dam – the biggest European artificial lake, with a perimeter of more than 1100km – has brought to the Alentejo, some of the most important investment companies of the world and the attention of the foreign media. We are operating and we are officially certified as a Guest House with more than 1400m2 of building facilities, offering ten fully furnished apartments with a potential for growth to thirty rooms and apartments and could be upgraded into a charming rural hotel for which there are many grants available. It has a generous salt-water swimming pool and guest facilities include, two large living and games-rooms, one breakfast-room, barbecue, esplanada, porch and more than 1600m2 of garden. The hotel is implanted in more than 70ha (173 acres) of agricultural and forest terrain in the Sierra. Part of this area is due to be urbanised. About 11,000m2 fall into the urban extension of the adjacent village. According to local regulations and to a plan that is in the process soon to be approved by the Township, one can use this terrain to build a condominium of 17 villas, representing a gross business of more than 5,0 Million Euro. The area to be urbanised within the perimeter of the property may also be used to build a condominium or a tourist resort. According to recent changes to the PDM (Municipal Director Program) of our Township, one can file for a Touristic Project that would be 100 Touristic Beds up to a maximum of 500 beds, turning this special property into a well positioned investment spot in the Area. As an alternative the same PDM allows for application of the expansion of the existing building by 50%, or simply just buy it, live in it and enjoy it!
