cultural activities in lisbon during july
News Posted On: 03 July 2009
Lisbon is one of the thriving cultural centres of Portugal and the wealth of festivals and events in the capital this month reflects this.
During July, those with property in Lisbon will be able to take in both theatre and musical activities, reports WhatsonWhen.com.
Starting tomorrow, people staying in the city will be able to take in plays that are being put on as part of the Almada International Theatre Festival and the event will go on until July 18th 2009.
It will take place at a variety of venues in the Portuguese capital, including the Belem Cultural Arts Centre, the Almada Theatre and Culturgest.
For those who are more musically inclined, there will be a choice of activities during July, including the Estoril Music Festival and Cool Jazz Fest.
Among those who will be at the latter festival - which is on between July 10th and 26th - are international stars Katie Melua, James Taylor, Seal and Jazzanova.
The Estoril Music Festival will have a more classical focus, with large orchestral and choral concerts, although there will also be outdoor band concerts and chamber and song recitals.
This will begin on July 17th and is scheduled to run until the end of the month.
