The introduction of new flights to the Algarve by bmibaby could make buying property in the region even more attractive.
Budget airline bmibaby has announced that it will be offering flights to the airport in the Algarve during the summer holiday period in 2010.
The firm will soon be making trips to the region available for holidaymakers and potential property buyers.
It will also offer low-cost flights to a number of other popular destinations in Spain such as Palma and Alicante.
Julian Carr, bmibaby's commercial director, said: "Travellers can now plan ahead and book early to secure the best deals."
He added that this could be particularly beneficial to those who are looking to travel to the Iberian nation on a budget.
This comes after the Irish Times said the Algarve offers consistently good weather and a warm climate.
It added that property in Portugal was often of a high build-quality, which might make it an attractive destination for investors.
