portuguese property looking set for strong year
News Posted On: 16 February 2010
Portugal's luxury holiday property sector is looking good for a strong 2010 as Brits regain their love of places like the Algarve and the Silver coast and marketing efforts in Scandinavia begin to pay off in-terms of increasing tourism and interest noted by international vendors of Portuguese property.
Algarve is the centre of European golf, which was replaced in terms of popularity by the Silver Coast as prices rose sufficiently to put Algarve property out-with the reaches of many.
Ever since there was the first hint of recovery in international economies, at which point it became apparent that the all out doom scenario was no longer impending, all those people who had not been affected by the crunch, and who felt that they were now unlikely to, have been looking at overseas properties with view to bagging some quality bargains.
Obviously this means that middle-aged and middle class buyers have been dominating the market, and while it is a shameless stereotype it is also true; golf is one of the most popular sports among that demographic. Therefore Algarve and Portugal property is among the favourites with the current wave of buyers.
This is despite the fact that Algarve and Portugal developers have not been forced to drop prices; buyers are happy with the incentives packages that developers and vendors are laying on, including free furniture packs and rental management.
