relax in property abroad in portugal
News Posted On: 18 June 2009
Property abroad purchasers might be interested to learn that an expert has claimed the recession is prompting increasing numbers of Britons to opt for holidays that are relaxing.
According to Luke Fredberg, a spokesperson from TripAdvisor, breaks are often considered more important during a stressful and difficult economic climate.
He said: "As far as the recession is concerned, it puts more and more emphasis on relaxation and really chilling out when we are on holiday."
The expert added that holidays often take up a larger proportion of vacationers' disposable income in troubled times.
This might mean that those with low-cost accommodation available to rent to tourists visiting the central Algarve region of Portugal could stand to profit from the downturn as holidaymakers look for cheaper options, such as self-catering.
According to Expedia.co.uk, 60 per cent of Britons will be taking their full holiday entitlement this year despite growing pressures as a result of the problems with the global economy.
