slovakia scores high marks for economic recovery
News Posted On: 22 January 2010
Slovakia continues to outpace its neighbours in terms of the strength of its economic recovery. According to new date released by Eurostat construction output grew faster in Slovakia than in the rest of the EU in November, with Slovakian construction output being 13.7% higher on the month. The Slovakian economy grew 1.6% in the third quarter according to Eurostat, which was among the largest seen in the EU.
Slovakia is also known for its current account being in much better shaped than most of the countries in the EU, developed and developing. This will undoubtedly prove important, because it will make liquidity much more easy to come by as the current recovery builds this year.
Slovakia recently adopted the Euro, but none the less Slovakia property is still offering fantastic at prices that are -- comparatively speaking -- among the lowest in the Eurozone and the wider EU.
Several months ago we recommended Slovakia property as an investment tip, and this was before the country was able to secure adoption of the single European currency. The adoption of the Euro did have a slight positive effect on the real cost of Slovakian property for British buyers, especially because of the current weakness of the pound against the Euro.
None the less, we are still currently advertising a Slovakian farmhouse at £7k, worth it for the land, let alone the accompanying planning permission, as well as houses and bungalows for less than £20,000. The properties need a lot of research to judge their investment potential, but immediately they are good fixer uppers for a family looking to move somewhere the air is clear and the stars shine brightly in the night sky.
