Majorca is the largest of the islands belonging to Spain and sits at the head of the Balearic group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The islands capital city Palma is also the autonomous capital of the Balearic Islands as a whole and boasts a grand Cathedral in its centre dating back to 1229 and the Belver Castle.
The island along with its counterparts Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera are all popular tourist destinations and indeed Majorca or Mallorca as the locals refer to it has been attracting tourists since the early 1950's. There are an abundance of holiday resorts and popular beaches on the island not to mention the numerous beachside and waterside activities throughout the year. A firm favourite with European holidaymakers for over half a century.
Property for sale in Majorca is particularly popular with the British and other European buyers and has been performing well for many decades. Within only a couple of hours flight time from the UK and with a mild all year round climate it's easy to see why so many people are buying properties in Majorca.

Majorca plays host to a number of great resorts aimed at very different holidaymakers. In the north you can find the family resort of Alcudia with its abundance of daytime and evening family activities and Puerto Pollensa with its lovely bay whereas the southern resorts of Magaluf, Palma Nova and Santa Ponsa are aimed more so at the younger traveller.
