Investors and lifestyle property abroad buyers could benefit from purchasing a home in Spain where Britons enjoy a "home away from home", it has been claimed.
According to Carmen Hernandez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourist Office in London, the links between the two countries are "undeniable and strong".
She commented: "Almost 90 per cent of Britons who travelled to Spain in 2008 had already been there on holiday before.
"They feel safe and secure there and they know they can communicate easily with people, drive on safe road[s] and get the best healthcare."
Property buyers might find that there is a strong rental market for holiday homes in Majorca purchased, particularly among British leisure travellers.
There could also be a good re-sale market because of the continuing popularity of the country with people from the UK.
According to the Co-operative Travel, the number of bookings to travel to the island among the under 21 age group rose by five per cent year-on-year in April.
