Investors should consider buying property in Spain, which an expert has said is a "tried and tested" holiday destination for Britons.
Sarah Chambers, PR manager at Holiday-Rentals, noted that despite the weakening of the pound against the euro, the country has not lost its appeal to vacationers from the UK.
She identified a number of regions in Spain as places that continue to attract leisure travellers from Britain.
"Despite the credit crunch, the top European cities and the old favourites like Costa del Sol are still popular," Ms Chambers commented.
She added that the Costa Blanca, Majorca and Ibiza were also proving to be consistently popular destinations for Britons in search of sun, sand and sea.
Purchasing property in places with a solid tourist trade could help investors ensure they can get a consistent rental income.
A recent Skyscanner survey revealed that five of the most searched for destinations in Europe among UK holidaymakers were located in Spain.
