eurozone travellers told to remember currency exchange rate
News Posted On: 26 June 2009
People who are spending time in their property in Spain could benefit from remembering the exchange rate they purchased their euros for.
According to a study by the Post Office, nearly half of all people from the UK are failing to work out how much goods and services are costing them while overseas, leaving some paying over the odds and over their budgets.
Rachel Riley, the maths expert from Channel 4's Countdown, has therefore advised Britons to make the most of their currency by making a note of the exchange rate when buying foreign notes and coins.
"Keep a note in your purse and wallet and use this as your reference when working out how much things cost," she told the Daily Mail.
Ms Riley added that writing the equivalents for sums such as £1 and £10 may also be useful, as it could serve as a rough reference guide when making purchases.
This comes shortly after YouTravel.com reported that trips to Spain are still in high demand, despite recent currency fluctuations.
