overseas property agents told to step up activity for winter sales
News Posted On: 27 August 2009
Overseas property agents should be accelerating their marketing efforts as activity begins to increase it has been stated.
The end of the downturn has been reached, but instead of breathing a sigh of relief and hoping that things will improve on their own, businesses need to take the bull by the horns says Liam Bailey, an overseas property expert and director of Write About Property.
"The winter months are a great time for overseas property sales, as people look for an escape from the brutal British winter. So now is the time to really step up your marketing campaigns," he said.
Bailey also pointed out the changes that the credit crunch has made to overseas property sales; that more people are shying away from the risk of emerging markets and favouring established markets, especially where prices have fallen considerably like Spain. However, Bailey also said that Turkey and Egypt are the two exceptions to this rule.
Another change the credit crunch has brought about in the overseas property industry according to Bailey is led the amount of research potential buyers are doing on their own behalf before putting any money down.
"Potential buyers are no longer taking agents' word for investment potential they are doing their own research, which I think is a good thing," he said.
This came with a warning from Bailey, he said that this means that if buyers do not get all the information they want form an agent they will simply find an agent who has more of the facts to hand.
We are seeing the increasing activity that Bailey spoke of on Property-Abroad.com, and the fact that people are favouring the likes of Spain, although Spain has always been one of the most popular countries with our users.
